Welcome to your COVID Secure Club

Great Yarmouth & Waveney Fencing Club will be reopening on Thursday 20th August! Although we are reopening, members will not be returning to the same club they left in March. The risks of COVID-19 are still present, but in line with advice from the Government, British Fencing and Ormiston Denes Sports Centre we have made various changes to the club in order to make it as safe as possible for everyone in attendance. Your club now has two COVID-19 officers (Rob Johnson & Yasmin Narli) whose roles are to enforce our COVID-secure procedures and to assist our members in understanding them.

You can read about how your COVID-Secure club will run in our - Guide to Members (Updated 13/08/20).

Before attending a club session, all participants and spectators must book their attendance. We ask that you do this by the end of Tuesday. You can book your space(s) here.

Then, on Wednesday morning, all those who have booked will be informed of the session plan for that Thursday, including which bubble they are in and when they should attend. At this point, any remaining spaces can be booked up until Thursday 6 pm. See this week's session plan here.

Importantly, everyone who enters the Sports Centre must complete a health declaration before arriving at the venue. These must be completed prior to every session and must be completed on the day of your session. Submit your health declaration here

In addition, prior to returning all members and spectators will need to do the following:

> Confirm their contact details. This enables the to club & Ormiston Denes Community Sports Centre to support the NHS Test & Trace initiative.

> Read, sign and return the Club's COVID-19 Code of Conduct (Coc).

> Be briefed by a club COVID-officer on how the club is currently running.

> Make themselves familiar with the Ormiston Denes Sports Centre Reopening Guidance.

Should you require any further information as to the changes we've made to the club and how we've mitigated against the risk of transmitting COVID-19, this can be found in our COVID-19 specific Risk Assessment and our Equipment Cleaning & Sharing Policy.

If you have any questions you can contact our COVID-19 officers by emailing gywfencingclub@gmail.com  or you can call/text/WhatsApp Rob on 07516 675051.
